Additional HMO Licensing Scheme
The Housing Act 2004 allows Local Authorities to introduce Additional HMO licensing where there is evidence that certain Houses in Multiple Occupation are being managed ineffectively so that they give rise to problems for the tenants or for members of the public in the vicinity. This document is part of the consultation process to enable the local authority to take soundings before deciding whether a designation is necessary.
