Headstone Gardens / Harrow View / Headstone Drive junction improvement proposals
We are seeking your views on proposals to improve pedestrian safety for the junction at Headstone Gardens / Harrow View / Headstone Drive.
Currently the area around Headstone Gardens / Harrow View / Headstone Drive junction has high pedestrian demand with the proximity of local shops, the surrounding residential areas, bus stops and businesses in the area.
The funding will be made available through Section 106 contributions from the Kodak redevelopment of the Harrow View West and Harrow View East regeneration sites.
The council also received a petition to provide a dedicated pedestrian control facility at this junction. With the redevelopment of the Harrow View West and Harrow View East regeneration sites, the pedestrian footfall and pedestrian crossing demand at this junction is likely to increase significantly. Currently the signalised junction does not have a dedicated pedestrian phase and pedestrians can only cross this junction when there is a gap in the vehicular traffic.
